   DINNER PLATE

   Largest plate of the traditional 5 piece place setting
   Measures 10.5" in diameter, including a 1.75" rim
   Plate has 2 Coat of Arms shields topped with tartan bows and pitcher plants
   Plate has 4 patterns of tartan scarves surrounding pitcher plants
   Plate is used as a serving plate for entrees and main courses

      
   LUNCHEON PLATE

   Plate is not normally part of the traditional 5 piece place setting
   Measures 8" in diameter, including a 1.25" rim
   Plate has 1 Coat of Arms shield topped with a tartan bow and pitcher plants
   Plate has 4 patterns of tartan scarves surrounding pitcher plants
   Plate is used for breakfast or lunch, for sandwiches, snacks and desserts


   SALAD PLATE

   Middle sized plate of the traditional 5 piece place setting
   Measures 7" in diameter, including a 1.25" rim 
   Plate has 1 Coat of Arms shield topped with a tartan bow and pitcher plants 
   Plate has 3 patterns of tartan scarves surrounding pitcher plants 
   Plate is used for salads and desserts


   BREAD AND BUTTER PLATE

   Smallest sized plate of the traditional 5 piece place setting
   Measures 6" in diameter, including a 1" rim 
   Plate has 1 Coat of Arms shield topped with a tartan bow and pitcher plants 
   Plate has 2 patterns of tartan scarves surrounding pitcher plants 
   Plate is used for bread and rolls, servings of butter or as a smaller dessert plate


   BUTTER PAT

   Small round shaped dish with rolled edge, accented with gilding on the outer edge
   Measures 4 5/8" in diameter, rim is 1/2" and dish is 5/8" deep
   Dish as Coat of Arms topped with Tartan bow, flanked with Pitcher Plants
   Dish also has Tartan scarves flanking Pitcher Plants on lower half of dish on either side
   Dish is used to serve individual servings of butter to compliment standard place setting
   Sometimes referred to as a pin dish, trinket dish or collected as a sample plate of the pattern

   ROUND CAKE PLATE

   Round cake or serving plate, with handles on either side, accented with gilding on outer edges
   Measures 10 1/2" from handle to handle, however plate has a 9 1/2" diameter
   Handles have raised wing pattern, with a swirled surface gilding accenting each handle
   Plate has Coat of Arms topped with Tartan bows on either side, with 2 scarf patterns on either side
   Shows influence of the Royal Albert pattern as this plate is used in other Royal Albert designs
   Used to serve cakes, cookies and other sweet breads, good compliment to tea service 

   SQUARE CAKE PLATE

   Squared-shaped dish with handles formed on either side, often part of a tea set
   Plate measures 9 3/4" from handle to handle, 9" from top to bottom
   Plate has 2 Coat of Arms shields topped with Tartan bows and pitcher plants
   Plate has 4 patterns of tartan scarves surrounding pitcher plants
   Plate is used to serve cakes, cookies and other desserts, often during tea or coffee


   RECTANGLE SANDWICH PLATE

   
Rectangle shaped dish with small formed handles on either side, accented with gilding 
   Plate measures 11 1/4" by 5 1/2", has a rim on the bottom of the plate to raise it on the table
   Plate has 2 Coat of Arms shields topped with Tartan bows, flanked with Pitcher plants
   Plate has Tartan scarves flanking Pitcher Plants on each corner
   Plate is used to serve sandwiches, cakes, cookies or other desserts
   In modern fare, these dishes would make a perfect presentation for serving suishi

   OVAL RELISH / OLIVE DISH

   Oval dish with with lipped edge having gold guilding
   Dish measures 7 3/4" by 5 5/8"
   Dish has 1 Coat of Arms shield topped with a tartan bow and pitcher plants
   Dish has 2 patterns of tartan scarves surrounding pitcher plants
   Dish is used to serve appetizers, as well as chutneys, relishes, pickles or olives

   Measures 13" by 10" with a 1 1/2" rim
   Top and bottom have Coat of Arms shields topped with Tartan bows, flanked with pitcher plants
   Platter has 6 transfer patterns of Tartan scarves flanking pitcher plants
   Platter is mainly used for serving meats, breads, cheeses, fruits and vegetables


   LARGE PLATTER

   Large oval platter with slightly scalloped edges, gilding on the edge
   Measures 14 7/8" by 12 3/8" with a 1 3/4" rim
   Top and bottom have 2 Coat of Arms shields topped with Tartan bows, flanked with pitcher plants
   Platter has 8 other transfer patterns of tartan scarves flanking pitcher plants
   Mainly used for serving meats, breads, cheeses, fruits and vegetables
